Dezraye Choi

Dez began her riding career at Lorimer's Riding Academy in the Oakland Hills and as a junior she competed throughout California in the jumper and equitation divisions with Gry and Duncan McFarlane. She has worked as an equine vet tech and as Assistant Trainer at some of the top hunter/jumper show barns in the San Francisco Bay Area, gaining valuable experience in teaching, barn management, and as a rider. She has also lived and worked abroad in Holland where she had the opportunity to learn the European system. From 2012-2015, she worked with Jennifer Kallam and JK Training to develop a successful show program from the ground up. Dez has ridden and cliniced with many top horsemen including Buck Brannaman, Eddie Macken and Linda Allen.

A strong competitor in the show ring, Dez enjoys showing at all levels and shares her love of horses with her students. She has a particular talent for developing young hunter/jumper horses and refining them for suitability with their riders and has recently focused on jumper prospects with wins in the Mini Prix and 1.30m. Dez has successfully coached students to top placings in the hunter, jumper, and equitation rings, including medal finals wins in Northern California.

Emma loves working with clients of all ages, but has a passion for developing young riders. She is thrilled to be a part of Team Breakwell!
