Breakwell Stables is proud of its talented team of assistants, who offer extensive experience in the equitation and jumper rings as both trainers and riders.

Wendy Subotich

Wendy Subotich has been with Breakwell Stables since 1999 and has a strong background in the equitation ring.

As a child, she rode with Gincy Bucklin of Lion Hill Farm and competed in the pony, children’s hunters and equitation divisions all over the East Coast. As a junior, she rode with Emerson Burr and Leslie Burr Howard and showed successfully in Florida, indoors at both Washington and Harrisburg, Devon and throughout New England.

In 1988 she qualified for the New England Medal Finals and in 1989 qualified for the ASPCA Maclay National Equitation championships at Madison Square Garden.

Wendy is known as a wonderful instructor with a great sense of humor. Her equitation background has proved to be an invaluable asset to Breakwell Stables as both a teacher and rider.

Laura Paul

Laura Paul has worked for Breakwell Stables since 1994 and also has a strong understanding of equitation and dressage basics and is loved by all her students.

Laura rode on the East Coast with dressage trainer Kathy Hearn as a junior, Cookie DeSimone during high school and Dana Hall in Wesseley, Massachusetts for four years. She also spent one year focusing on equitation with Paul Valiere at Acres Wild Farm in Rhode Island.

Upon moving to the West Coast for college, Laura rode with Mary Tyng for four years at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.
